Thunder Score Six Unanswered To Beat Voyageurs

Thunder Score Six Unanswered To Beat Voyageurs

EDMONTON, AB – The Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) Thunder welcomed the visiting Portage College Voyageurs in Saturday night hockey action. What started off as a close game saw Concordia score four third period goals on their way to a 6-1 victory to sweep the weekend series.

Portage came out of the gate strong, scoring the game's first goal less than three minutes into the first period and hanging onto that lead into the first intermissions. The hard fought back and forth game continued into the second period, as both teams exchanged chances before the Thunder finally found the back of the net halfway through the period to even things up. Concordia would add another before the end of the period and take a 2-1 lead into the second intermission. The third period saw the flood gates open as Concordia scored four goals in the final frame to make it a 6-1 final.

This concludes the weekend series between Concordia and Portage, with the Thunder taking both games. These two teams will not meet again in the regular season, but the Thunder return to action next Friday as they welcome the MacEwan Griffins.

The Kahunaverse Players of the Game were #28 Shane Sherban for Portage and #7 Adam Moghrabi for the Thunder.
