EDMONTON, AB - The Thunder hosted the Trojans in a back and forth heartbreak loss.
Both goalies had a fair share of action between the pipes as #1 Payton Lee (SAIT) faced 30 shots while #30 Tanner McCorriston (CUE) faced 39 shots.
The Tojans opened scoring half way through the second period with a PowerPlay goal from #16 Patrick Martens, which allowed them to enter the 3rd period up by 1.
In the 3rd period, the Thunder striked first to tie it all up at 1 on a beautiful PowerPlay goal from Edmonton native Tyler Benko. The rest of the third was a back and forth until #15 Eric Krienke lit the lamp with just over 2 minutes remaining in the 3rd. Less than a minute later the Thunder answered with a quick goal tying it back up at 2! Although the Thunder outshot the Trojans 15-9 in the 3rd, the Trojans scored a late 3rd period goal to bring home the win.
