Wolves defeat the Thunder in heartbreak fashion

Wolves defeat the Thunder in heartbreak fashion

EDMONTON AB – The Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) took on the visiting Grand Prairie Regional College (GPRC) in their first game in a back to back weekend series. The Wolves took down the undefeated Thunder with a score of 89-80.

The Thunder and the Wolves were very evenly matched in the first half of the game. The Thunder edging the Wolves in the first quarter by one point, but the Wolves got the best of the Thunder in the second quarter, ending the half with a 48-44 lead for the visiting Wolves. The Thunder were plagued with fouls and the Wolves took full control in the 4th quarter outscoring the Thunder 23-12.

This ended the Thunder's 10 winning streak and broke their undefeated season. The Wolves moved up the ranking and are now tied for 3rd place. The Big Kahuna Player of the Game for the visiting Wolves was #10 Payton Tirrell who contributed 22 points, and for the Thunder #15 Ronald Bacon Jr. who put up 23 of his own. The Wolves and Thunder will meet again tomorrow in their home and home series.
