Thunder Roars to Victory

(EDMONTON, AB) The Concordia Thunder hosted the NAIT Ooks in an electrifying women's basketball matchup that kept fans at the edge of their seats. Both teams battled fiercely, with standout performances from key players.

The game started with the Ooks asserting themselves on the court. Mikah Reed and Payton Neilson led their team with 21 points each, showcasing remarkable accuracy from the free-throw line and beyond the arc. Rory Vandermeer dominated the boards, collecting 11 rebounds and contributing to NAIT's overall rebounding advantage.

On the other side, the Concordia Thunder, fueled by Chloe DeKlerk and Rachel Harvey, made a strong comeback in the second and third quarters. DeKlerk played an essential role with a stellar performance, contributing 20 points and providing a critical offensive boost for the Thunder. Rachel Harvey's double-double performance with 26 points and 18 rebounds was also a defining factor for the Thunder. The team's aggressive defense and effective fast-break plays in the third quarter proved crucial in their comeback.

The Thunder emerged victorious, Despite the NAIT Ooks' early lead, CUE managed to outscore their opponents consistently throughout the game. The One Team Sport Players of the game were #6 Payton Neilson for the Ooks, and #8 Chloe DeKlerk of the Thunder. The Thunder returns to home court next weekend for a back-to-back battle against the Keyano Huskies.
