Thunder fall short of the comeback against the Ooks

EDMONTON AB – The Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) Thunder took on the visiting NAIT Ooks for the final time this season. The Ooks took down the Thunder 60-54 in the dying seconds after a very close comeback by the Thunder.

The Ooks started out pretty dominant, taking an early lead and maintaining that lead for the first half, outscoring the Thunder 37-27. Towards the end of the first half, the Thunder were able to put a run together and cut the lead to 10, both teams were deadly on the 3-point line, racking up 15 of their points each, from outside the arch. The Thunder fought their way back in the 3rd and 4th to being down by 1 with 2 minutes left on the clock. The Ooks caused a turnover in the last minute and were able to solidify their win with a big 3-pointer.

This win put NAIT and the Thunder side-by-side with 24 points a piece. Next weekend the Ooks will be taking on the GPRC Wolves and the Thunder will be taking on Keyano Huskies. The Big Kahuna Player of the Game for the Ooks was #23 Mackenzie Emmerson and for the Thunder was #11 Morgan Dool.
