Thunder take down visiting Rustlers in first game back since the break

EDMONTON AB – The Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) Thunder took on the visiting Lakeland Rustlers. The Thunder took down the Rustlers by a score of 67-54

The Rustlers started the first quarter hot, beating the Thunder to the ball, getting the rebounds and the Thunder just couldn't find their rhythm. The first quarter ended with the Rustlers up 17-11. After the quick 2 minute break, the Thunder found their stride and outscored the Rustlers 2-1 and finished the second quarter with a massive buzzer beater 3-pointer to break the tie and go up by 3 points.

The Thunder picked up the 3rd quarter where the left off, pulling away from the Rustlers and having a lead by as many as 12 and ending the quarter with a score of 52-43. The Thunder kept the pressure on and outscored the Rustlers in the 4th solidifying their lead, and ultimately the win.

The Thunder will be facing off against the Rustlers again tomorrow at Lakeland to finish off their weekend series. The Big Kahuna Player of the Game for the visiting Rustlers was # 13 Kaitlyn Tonita and for the Thunder was #11 Morgan Dool.
