Robbie Valpreda is the Head Coach of the Women’s Basketball Program at Concordia University of Edmonton. Robbie ‘s coaching experience includes 5 years with the Louis St. Laurent Senior women’s team. Robbie also worked as an assistant with the University of Alberta Golden Bears and 3 years with the MacEwan Griffins men’s program winning two ACAC championships with the coaching staff.

His playing career includes experience at both ACAC and CIS level. At MacEwan, he lead his team to two ACAC championships along with a silver and bronze at CCAA nationals. Robbie was an ACAC All conference player three times as well as CCAA Athlete and Player of the year for Men’s Basketball in 2000-01. Robbie was also a player with the University of Alberta Golden Bears from 2001-03 where he was named Canada West Player of the year and won a National Championship in 2001-02 and being named to the CIS All-Canadian first team. 

Robbie has a strong love for the game and competition, his philosophy is to always work hard, learn and develop from your mistakes and continue to grow mentally and physically. During the 2016-17 seaon, Robbie guided the Thunder women’s basketball program to a 18-6 record, 2nd in the North Division. Robbie was also recognized as ACAC Women’s North Coach of the year for the 2016-17 season. He is now entering his 5th season as the Head Coach of the Women’s Basketball Program.
