Thunder Falls In Four Sets To The Eagles

EDMONTON, AB – The Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) Thunder hosted the King's Eagles in Saturday night action to close their weekend series. The Thunder dropped the first two sets before storming back and taking the third, but ultimately fell in four sets 3-1.

The first set saw the Eagles jump out to an early lead and withstand the attempted comeback of the Thunder as they took the set 25-16. In the second set, the Eagles once again carried the momentum as they took an early lead and never looked back as they took the series 25-14. The Thunder, however, turned the tables on the Eagles in the third as they took the lead early in the set and withstood the comeback attempt from the Eagles as they took the set 25-19. The fourth set was a tightly contested back and forth affair with both teams exchanging leads throughout. However, the Eagles eventually grabbed the lead and held onto it as they took the set 25-19 and the match 3-1.

This concludes the weekend series between the Thunder and Eagles with two wins going to King's. The Thunder return to action next weekend at home as they host the Keyano Huskies in Friday/Saturday action.

The Kahunaverse Players of the Game were #3 Ross Bishop for the King's Eagles and #7 Chad Sieben for the Thunder.
