Over the past year you may have read the name Leonard Chesoo across many headlines throughout the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) and Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA). The Concordia University of Edmonton phenom runner had many accomplishments during his rookie season while running for the Thunder Cross Country and Indoor Track teams including a CCAA XC Silver Medal, 4 ACAC Medals and was named CCAA All-Canadian and ACAC Rookie of the year.
Early in July, Chesoo ran in the annual Lululemon 10K race where he would finish first while running alongside some of the top runners in the nation. Chesoo shattered his personal best time from that distance running a time of 29:27. This accomplishment was recognized among his peers at Concordia University and the running community within Alberta but it wouldn’t be long until he would be recognized nationally. CBC contacted Chesoo and released a story on his accomplishments and the life journey the sport he loves has taken him on. You can find the story written by Min Dhariwal of CBC at https://newsinteractives.cbc.
